The Importance of Storytellers

No Motivation Here!

I am not a motivational speaker. I am a storyteller.

Stories make us who we are and show us who we want to be. We use stories to learn and grow. Stories are how we share ourselves. Stories help us know others. For example, the picture to the right is of my baby brother, myself and a 235-pound cheese. There's a story there, but I'll let you ask me about it.

We also need stories to know ourselves better and know God. God chooses to speak to us using stories in the Bible. Jesus chose to primarily speak to the crowds through parables (aka stories). God knows that we see truth better through stories, even if we don't always understand them at first.

Everyone has a different story. And yet everyone's story is the same. My story is different from your story, but I promise that when I tell my story you will find parts of yourself present as well. Maybe once you hear my story, you will find the courage to share yours.

About Me

Woman, Addict, church lady, Gamer, Wife, Aunt, Friend

There are many labels that I wear! I have a journey and story for every label, as we all do. More generally, I live in Redmond, Washington with my husband and two of the most adorable cats on the planet. I am a member of Meadowbrook Church in Redmond.

Keynote Speaker

I do keynote speaking for events or retreats, and primarily for women. I can create speaking sessions as needed for 10-50 minutes in duration. However, I find shorter sessions more effective. The heart can only absorb what the behind can endure.

Event and Retreat Planning

I have over 15 years experience (professionally and in ministry) planning events, retreats and conventions. Whether your team needs help from the start or some assistance polishing up a theme, I can fill in any gaps you need. My spiritual gift of administration makes me a planning power house.

Sample Themes

Solitude

Beautifully Broken

Beautifully Broken

Too often we let busyness and distraction keep us from connecting with God deeply. These speaking sessions walk participants through quiet time alone with God, seeking his voice. Participants leave with a deeper connection and a personal message.

Best for day or weekend retreats.

Beautifully Broken

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This speaking session uses my personal experience with brokenness and the visual of Kintsugi to demonstrate God's healing. And God's healing doesn't always look like we think.

Best for single event or day retreat.

Remind Me

Remind Me

We have so many pressures on us: be more, be less, be better, be perfect. We all need a reminder of our identity in Christ. A solid knowing of who God has made us to be makes us solid against every voice that tells us we are not enough.

Best for retreat or longer event.
